The Roundup, Sept. 23, 2026: Conference golf tournaments take over, IVC, BCC win in boys soccer
Tournaments were sweeping central Illinois as golf invaded Wednesday's slate of high school action. With some soccer and volleyball sprinkled throughout and a few big flag football games, there was plenty of variety.
Normal U-High took first place in the boys and girls Central State 8 Conference tournaments, sweeping the competition with Jack Quinn staying red-hot by winning the boys’ individual title Brimfield girls and Illini Bluffs boys had big days as well, each taking home a first place trophy at the Inter-County Conference Tournament as the Indians’ had both individual champions in Will Snyder and Nicole Detmers.
IVC, Morton and BCC won big in soccer and flag football saw multiple big shutout victories in a lopsided slate. Volleyball featured some narrow finishes including a big win for Brimfield and Normal Community and Peoria Notre Dame faced off in the pool.
