Trending up in Downs: Vikings in position for special season atop HOIC

DOWNS, IL – After overcoming a halftime deficit against Paxton-Buckley-Loda and getting a little bit of help from a conference counterpart, Tri-Valley boys basketball is now in sole possession of first place in the Heart of Illinois Conference.


In the matchup with Paxton-Buckley-Loda on Jan. 31, Vikings forward Brayden Stombaugh hit a half-court buzzer-beater to cut the lead to three at half, and went on to finish as the Vikings’ leading scorer with 25 in a 59-37 win. 


One of the hottest teams in the area, Tri-Valley has now won eight of its last nine games.
