2025 Football Preview: New leader, same expectations for Metamora to be Mid-Illini force

METAMORA — Metamora football and success have long been synonymous with each other.


Ten state championship appearances and three state championship trophies are etched in the Redbirds’ name. 


Now in 2025, former Metamora graduate and assistant coach Nick Delinski gets his shot to add his own history to the storied football program. It is an opportunity that Delinski can’t wait to endeavor.


“I’m really excited and happy with this opportunity,” he said. “It’s something that I’ve always wanted since the fall of ‘94, my junior year, that’s probably [when I figured out] what I wanted to do is coach football and baseball. This is an opportunity that I’ve been waiting for.”
