2025 Soccer Preview: Emhoff leads veteran Illini Bluffs team in chase of program record

GLASFORD — It's no secret Illini Bluffs is a school filled with talented athletes, but the Tigers lack a football team in the fall.


The Illini Bluffs/Farmington soccer program and veteran head coach Gerard Smith are the beneficiaries of that and they are as optimistic as ever about the upcoming season. 


Illini Bluffs returns nearly all of its top players from a year ago, including skilled goal-scorer Will Emhoff, and believes it has a strong chance to set a new program record for wins in a season with 13 or more. The Tigers will take on a wide variety of opponents, ranging from the smallest of Class 1A schools to Class 3A giants like Pekin, with a team that’s increasingly growing their soccer IQs and ready to win a regional title.
