The wait is over.
IHSA competition for the 2025-26 season began on Thursday on golf courses around the state with Pekin, Bloomington, Tri-Valley, Eureka and Brimfield winning meets to begin the year.
The win for Bloomington’s girls squad was especially notable as it was the Purple Raiders’ first since 2020. Area golfers took home medalist honors at each event, including Bloomington Central Catholic’s Caroline Braucht who shot the area’s lowest 18-hole score of the day with a 76.
