2025 Soccer Preview: Juniors looking to boost Normal West in Wildcats’ return to 2A

NORMAL — Boys soccer in the Twin Cities is set to be a tight battle for supremacy in 2025. 


Normal West expects to be near, or at, the top of the pecking order after its return to being an above-.500 team last season. The Wildcats have had a fairly young roster in each of the past two seasons and still don’t have many seniors this fall, but can rely on a junior class that blends depth and talent.


In what will be head coach Val Walker’s 20th season leading the school’s boys soccer team, Normal West will be moving down from Class 3A to 2A. The switch, a closely-bonded team and a mentality of playing hard have the Wildcats believing they can be a top-tier team in 2025.
