2025 Football Preview: With seniors galore, Tri-Valley eyes fifth straight conference title

DOWNS — According to the Illinois Report Card, Tri-Valley High School’s students outperform the state’s average in math proficiency. 

However, it doesn’t require a math genius to figure that the Vikings’ football team having more returning starters in 2025 than total losses in the last four years bodes well for their fortunes this fall. 

Head coach Josh Roop enters his 19th season at Tri-Valley with 15 playoff appearances under his belt, three state championship berths and one state title. So what’s the secret to success on the gridiron in Downs?
