2025 Soccer Preview: Normal U-High begins new age following state title

NORMAL — It will be tough for Normal U-High soccer to replicate a magical 2024 season.
Following up a Class 1A state championship —the second title in program history— is one of the hardest things to do and much more so when the Pioneers lost over 15 players from that squad.
Youth will be a big theme for the Pioneers in 2025, but head coach Jeremy Stanton has been encouraged by what he’s seen so far from an underclassmen-heavy roster, which will try to make a new memorable age of Normal U-High soccer.
The Pioneers will play in Class 2A this season due to the IHSA’s success factor after making state berths in each of the last two seasons. However, preparation for that won’t be a question thanks to a regular season schedule filled with various tests.
