NORMAL – The last nine years have given Normal Community football fans a lot to be happy about.

In head coach Jason Drengwitz’s tenure, the Ironmen have made the 7A playoffs seven times, advancing to at least the second round in six of them.

And with less than a week until the start of the regular season, Normal Community prepares for another season of tough Big 12 action, but it’s been a similar road from years past to get here.

“Our summer didn't really change one bit compared to last year,” Drengwitz said. “Our June was exactly the same, our July was exactly the same in terms of contact days, the number of scrimmages, but the early start has allowed us to do more morning walkthroughs and lifts, and I really can’t complain.”

While there’s not a significant number of returning starters, the experience level of the roster remains a force to be reckoned with.
