2026 Volleyball Preview: Chemistry, large senior class highlight Normal Community in chase for state

NORMAL – The Normal Community volleyball team is no stranger to success, especially in the 16 years that head coach Christine Konopasek has been at the helm.
In that time, the Ironmen are 11-time regional champions, five-time sectional champions, and have made it to state twice, finishing third in 2014 and fourth in 2015.
Following a 34-win season and a Class 4A super-sectional appearance last year, the team returns a handful of varsity starters. With Liv Gerrietts and Breely Bauer returning for their last dance in the orange and black and Evie Mounce preparing for her junior season, the Ironmen are ready to take on any challenge.
