STANFORD - Olympia football has a clear goal this fall, and it's simple.

"Really, the only goal is to win. That's all I care about, and I think that's what the team really cares about," junior running back and safety Jimmy Lollar said.

What sets this year's team apart is more than just wanting to win. Olympia is focused on becoming a team that doesn't make mistakes that cost them games.

"Let's say we do lose, we're not beating ourselves," Lollar said. "I feel like last year, in a couple games we beat ourselves where we could have really competed and we lost because we didn't execute the details. So this year, every game, if someone beats us, they are just better. That's how we lost."

This mindset began late last season, when Olympia faced a three-game losing streak and needed a win to reach .500 and keep playoff hopes alive. What happened next was one of the team's most memorable wins in years, a victory over state power Maroa-Forsyth that Lollar says changed more than just their season.
