2026 Football Preview: With its largest roster yet, Dee-Mack looking to maintain momentum

MACKINAW — Last March, Dee-Mack girls basketball capped off a Class 1A state championship and the boys basketball team appeared in the sectional championship for the first time since 2018. 

In the spring, Dee-Mack baseball won over 20 games for the first time since 2011 and Byrkleigh Kraft of the Chiefs’ softball team entered the IHSA record books after an outstanding season.

2026 has been the year of the Chiefs, and the football team looks to carry that torch in the fall sports season with a memorable year of its own for the community.

“We’ve got a lot of excitement in our community whether we’re 5-5 or in the second round or in the state championship,” head coach Cody Myers said. “You’ve got a lot of expectations in the community for success. I think that’s the most important thing for us right now, is just to try to bring success to the community.”
