2026 Soccer Preview: ‘All or nothing’ season for physical, experienced Normal West squad

NORMAL — Normal West soccer feels like 2026 could be a year where some history could be made. 

The Wildcats are coming off a sectional championship appearance last season but hope to get over the hump and win their first sectional title — and maybe even make their first state appearance — in program history. 

They weren’t far off from greatness in 2025 with its only defeats coming in two goal losses to area powers such as Washington, Dunlap and Peoria Notre Dame. Forward John Jasker broke the school’s previous record of 33 goals in a season and looks to break his own mark again this year alongside nine other returning starters.

The Wildcats aim to hang their hat on being physical and connected with a host of seniors who have played hundreds of minutes in a varsity uniform.
