2026 Volleyball Preview: Healthier Normal West looks to reclaim top spot in Big 12

NORMAL — Normal West volleyball is happy to have everyone back on the court again, but not just in the sense of starting the season.
Last year, several key injuries derailed the Wildcats, who still managed to finish third in the Big 12 and win a Class 3A regional title for the fifth straight season. Now with a healthier roster, Normal West is looking to get back to its dominant ways.
Division-I bound setter Laine Thompson (Akron) and outside hitter Eden Hafermann (Northern Iowa) headline a starting lineup that also returns Ella Feltes, Allie Hernandez and Ryan Temples. The Wildcats believe that becoming better connected on and off the court during the last few months will benefit them against a competitive schedule.
