2026 Volleyball Preview: Tri-Valley going for unprecedented success with entire starting lineup returning

DOWNS — Not many volleyball programs in Illinois can say that they bring back their entire starting lineup from the previous season.
That is what Tri-Valley brings back from a 26-win campaign in 2025, where it also went undefeated in the HOIC in the regular season. Not counting the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the Vikings have won 20-or-more games in every season since 2011, but have only gone as far as a regional title, which they have won six times in that stretch.
The only sectional title in program history was in 2009, and this year’s Tri-Valley squad is poised to not only spoil that drought, but to go even further in the postseason in 2026.
