AP statewide rankings ahead of Week 8 feature El Paso-Gridley, Peoria High elevating

Twelve Central Illinois football teams have earned their way into, or just outside the top 10, in their respective class with just two weeks to go in the regular season.
El Paso-Gridley and Peoria High moved up multiple spots in their class after both teams put up dominant wins in Week 7.
Washington’s recent win over Dunlap helped the Panthers advance. Despite the loss, the Eagles remained in the top 10 in Class 6A, which features three area teams, along with Class 2A.
