Michel: In-season conference tournaments are cool, let’s have more of them

Mid-January brings about a few traditions in Central Illinois high school basketball, including one that’s over a century old. 

As the halfway point of the high school hoops season has recently gone into the rearview mirror, teams are gearing up for the stretch run before the postseason. In a typical week, most teams play a non-conference opponent or two to test themselves against someone they don’t typically see.
