CSM Boys Basketball Power Rankings: Jan. 26, 2026: More questions than answers heading into February

The boys high school basketball season in Central Illinois continues to provide more questions than answers, even 20 games into the season. 


Following a week where several top squads lost, Tremont broke out to win the Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament as a No. 6 seed, and Metamora regained its stride, the question that applies in each scenario is ‘Who is actually good and can make a deep postseason run?’


Each week, the list of answers can change. Momentum plays a big role in the latest CSM Boys Basketball Power Rankings, which feature Morton elevating, plus Tremont and Metamora joining the rankings. 


Check out how the best boys basketball teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area stack up below. Teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 are part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
