Girls basketball teams around the state will put the finishing touches on their seeding resumés early this week before seeds are announced on Thursday, with release of the postseason brackets coming on Friday.
Central Illinois will have plenty of favorable seeds as 25 of the 39 girls basketball teams in the Clutch Sports Media coverage area own a .500 record or better as of Feb. 2.
But back to the regular season, Washington and Morton continued to tear through their competition but Richwoods and Metamora both moved up in this week’s CSM Girls Basketball Power Rankings. Last week’s top five small school teams combined to go undefeated in the final week of January as well.
Check out how the best girls basketball teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area stack up below. Teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 are part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
