CSM Girls Basketball Power Rankings, Jan. 12, 2026: Big wins lead to little changes among area’s top girls teams

Maybe they like it that way or maybe they don’t, but Central Illinois’ best girls basketball teams didn’t experience many nail-biters last week. 


The 10 teams in the latest CSM Girls Basketball Power Rankings went a combined 19-2 with only two of those wins coming by double digits and many more having a margin of 20 or more points. Things could get much more flavorful this week as Washington faces Morton, Peoria Notre Dame faces Manual and Tri-Valley faces Eureka, among several other evenly-matched contests on paper. 


Morton and IVC both jumped up one spot in the rankings, which feature teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 as part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
