CSM Power Rankings, Sept. 7, 2026: Dunlap, Heyworth rise, Normal squads remain at top

The 2026 IHSA football regular season is already one-third of the way through and many of the teams expected to be among the best in Central Illinois have lived up to that expectation.
Normal Community, Normal West, El Paso-Gridley and Heyworth are all coming off blowout wins in Week 3 and headline the top football teams in the area heading into Week 4. Dunlap made a move up in the rankings after a close win over Metamora and Morton found its way back into the top five of the large school rankings as well.
Check out how the best football teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area stack up below in the latest CSM power rankings below. Teams in the Mid-Illini and the Big 12 are part of the large school rankings while area schools from any other conference are in the small school rankings.
