Eleven area squads included in Illinois media state rankings before Week 3

As the pool of unbeaten teams continue to dwindle with each coming week, the number of Central Illinois teams in the Illinois media state rankings also continued to drop heading into Week 3 of the season.
Eleven area squads were either ranked or received votes in the latest Illinois media rankings, which are based on a statewide vote of sports writers and broadcasters.
Metamora was the lone area team to move in its rankings while several others maintained the same spot as last week’s. Morton, Dunlap and Normal Community are all separated from the team above them by just one vote.
