Heyworth’s Fulcher hoping rugby, U.S. Navy in his future as he leads state-ranked Hornets

HEYWORTH — Playing rugby requires toughness. Being in the U.S. Navy also requires toughness.
Doing both of those things at the same time requires a certain type of specimen: One that has a strong physical profile, is willing to make sacrifices and is a leader.
And Heyworth’s Jarrod Fulcher fits the bill.
The senior lineman is in the midst of his fourth and final high school football seasons where he’s helped the Class 1A No. 5 Hornets jump out to a 2-0 start. But afterwards, he’s set his sights on playing for the rugby team at the U.S. Naval Academy.
“I've been in a handful of schools in my career,” Heyworth head coach Scott Godfrey said. “And as far as drive, competitiveness and relentlessness, he’s as good as it gets.”
