Hynek’s return from injury gives legs to improving Chargers girls soccer squad: ‘Heartbeat of the team’

PEORIA — As a skilled center midfielder, Peoria Christian’s Violet Hynek is everywhere on the field for the Chargers girls soccer team. 


But Hynek is happy to just be back on the field in the first place after an ACL injury disrupted her sophomore year, but helped launch a comeback that has given a big lift to the Chargers. 


“She's the heartbeat of the team,” Peoria Christian head coach Karl Anderson said following a 1-1 draw with Limestone on April 16. “Today, she kept the girls up, kept the girls positive. She's a hard working center midfielder for us and we wouldn't be able to be successful without her.”
