IHSA Boys Track and Field State Preview 2025: Central Illinois athletes, teams, relays and events to watch

The final and biggest weekend of the boys track and field season is here as the IHSA State meet from Eastern Illinois University will determine over 50 state champions over three classes.


There are over 100 athletes from the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal areas competing and several athletes and teams that may find themselves in contention for a state title. The Class 1A prelims begin on May 29, followed by the Class 2A and 3A prelims on May 30 and the finals for all classes on May 31. 


Below, we preview the area competitors in each class, including the teams, athletes and relays most likely to win a state title, sleepers to watch out for, athletes competing in multiple events and events carrying notable local flavor.
