Illini Bluffs’ Dickinson, Normal U-High’s Allen win CSM Fall Athletes of the Week

Neither one of the most recent Clutch Sports Media Fall Athletes of the Week winners are seniors, but both of them have already become well-accustomed to winning in their careers. 


Illini Bluffs freshman cross country runner Audrey Dickinson won CSM Girls Athlete of the Week and Normal U-High junior golfer Brody Allen won CSM Boys Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in their respective polls.


Dickinson started off her high school career with multiple first place finishes while Allen was routinely at the top of the leaderboard during a big week for Normal U-High’s boys golf team.

Audrey Dickinson Illini Bluffs cross country

Dickinson won CSM Girls Athlete of the Week after receiving 49 percent of the votes in the girls poll. The Illini Bluffs freshman, who was the IESA Class 2A state runner-up in 2024, began her varsity career by winning the Farmington Invitational on Aug. 25 with a clocking of 17:55.5. Just four days later, she won the IVC Invite with a time of 18:17.0. Dickinson hasn’t stopped there and is yet to finish anywhere but first in a high school race this year, as she has since won races at Midwest Central and Canton.

What’s been your favorite memory of your high school career so far? 

“My favorite memory is sprinting to my car in the pouring down rain at [Detweiller at Dark].”


If you had to be stranded on an island with a teammate, who would it be and why?

“Whitney Parker because she has been with me since our middle school program has started and has been with me throughout everything.”


Favorite music artist?

“Taylor Swift.”


Favorite food?

“Probably anything that has a lot of carbs, but I love a good Costco lasagna.”


Do you have any pregame routines/rituals?

“I have to eat strawberries. Our saying is "strawberries get PRs".”


What’s one thing that’s on your bucket list?

“I want to take a trip to New York City.”


Who’s your role model and why?

“My big brother Fischer Dickinson. He is the most hard-working person I know and I don't know where I would be without him.”


Brody Allen Normal U-High golf

Allen won CSM Boys Athlete of the Week after receiving 53 percent of the votes in the boys poll. Allen had multiple superb performances that helped Normal U-High to winning the Champaign Central Invite on Aug. 28 and Edwardsville’s Dick Gerber Invite on Aug. 29-30. Allen was the top individual at the University of Illinois Orange course at Champaign, shooting an even-keeled 71 with 15 pars. He finished third at the Dick Gerber Invite, a 36-hole event contested over two days by shooting an even-par 71, followed by a 75. Additionally, he tied for third at the Peoria Notre Dame Invite at Kellogg Golf Course on Aug. 27, thanks to shooting a 70.
