Morton, Dee-Mack, PND girls plus East Peoria boys rise in latest AP statewide rankings

Thirteen basketball teams in the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area were named in the AP statewide rankings released on Jan. 14, led by Morton taking over the No. 1 spot in the Class 3A girls poll.
Both boys and girls polls in Class 3A featured three area squads, including East Peoria boys and Peoria Notre Dame girls who both advanced multiple spots.
Class 1A girls also featured a trio of local squads, including Dee-Mack who experienced a noticeable jump in the rankings.
