MORTON — Elation.
That feeling swept over everyone wearing red and white — or pink — at the Potterdome on Tuesday night, where the Morton girls’ basketball team ended Washington’s bid for a perfect season with a 41-37 win.
They saw a matchup between two teams that have dominated the conversation of girls basketball in Central Illinois and represented two-thirds of AP Class 3A statewide rankings’ top trio.
