NORMAL — The Normal U-High Pioneers had not lost a game since the calendar flipped from 2025 to 2026 until Class 2A No. 3 Tolono Unity brought a 15-game win streak to an end in a 47-46 victory.
The Rockets did their research on the Pioneers, a Class 3A opponent that seemed unstoppable.
“We knew it was going to be a really tall task to come in here,” Rockets head coach Matt Franks said. “We just talked about staying poised, staying focused. We don’t need to all of a sudden make a magical play. We just have to do what we do.”
