Peoria High, Illini Bluffs improve, pair of Central Illinois 4A squads get votes in AP statewide rankings

The Associated Press statewide rankings are a bit less volatile late into the season, but multiple Central Illinois boys and girls basketball teams crept upwards in the latest poll.
Seventeen teams across the area are represented, an increase of 14 from last week. Normal Community boys and Richwoods girls joined the Class 4A fringe after being shut out from receiving votes for most of the season.
Peoria High boys and Illini Bluffs girls elevated in their respective polls while Dee-Mack and Washington’s girls teams remained in their No. 1 spots as well.
