NORMAL – Peoria Notre Dame has been a powerhouse in girls soccer, placing second and third at state in 2A in their last two years.
After moving up to Class 3A for the first time in program history, the Irish have not missed a beat, going undefeated in the regular season. In addition to that, PND has only given up five goals all season and have outscored their opponents by 141 goals.
And so far, nothing has changed in the postseason.
“We knew, going into 3A, you look at 3A postseason scores last year and they were all 1-0 games, 2-1 games,” Irish head coach Ben Ralph said. “They were close games, and if you don’t give up goals, it’s going to be hard to beat you. And I feel like we’ve got a good enough offense that our defense is really coming along and we’re doing a great job of keeping teams out of our net, and that’s really big in the postseason.”
