WASHINGTON — Washington girls basketball hopes to keep as much of its success and personnel as possible following its Class 3A state championship-winning season.

That’s what made Beth Peters the perfect fit to take on an elevated role on the sidelines as she was announced as the program’s next head coach on June 9.

Peters, who has been the Panthers’ junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach for the last four years, steps into the position after Kim Barth resigned in late April. Barth spent the previous 10 years at the helm, compiling a record of 247-63.

“I feel honored and privileged to get to work with this program, a program that I was a part of, a program that I've loved for a very long time,” Peters told Clutch Sports Media. “We'll always be working hard trying to get the best results for any girl that's in our program and any team.”
