No conversation about softball state contenders in Central Illinois is complete without mentioning Class 1A and 2A teams.

Illini Bluffs has long been a bastion of Class 1A success and loads up again behind star seniors Sara Finn and Cora Ellison. Brimfield/Elmwood, however, was arguably the top small-school team in the area last year and brings back a wealth of experience and starpower all over the field. IVC and Olympia both have potential for breakout years as well.

CSM’s final Spring Scope-Out of area softball teams also feature capsules on who and what to know for eight other area teams, including Bloomington Central Catholic, Delavan, Farmington, Lowpoint-Washburn/Roanoke-Benson, Midland, Midwest Central, Normal U-High and Princeville.
