Normal Community had a busy day in sports and collected several good results with its baseball team and girls soccer team winning, plus its boys track and field team finishing second at its meet.
Other highlights including a pair of Mid-Illini softball teams shutting out non-conference foes, including Dunlap’s Sutton Centoni throwing another no-hitter. Heyworth mounted a huge comeback, capped off by a walk-off homer by Boston Katz to win and Dee-Mack swept a doubleheader.
Track and field meets were relatively unaffected by Friday’s weather as Dunlap’s Patrick Peterson broke multiple records while Bloomington, Bloomington Central Catholic and Metamora were among the other top team finishers. Richwoods boys tennis brought home hardware from a local tournament as well.
