High school sports teams in Central Illinois continued to work through the middle of the season as a quartet of Bloomington/Normal softball teams won to lead Thursday’s action.
Those wins included pitching gems from Normal Community and Normal West plus big hitting nights from Bloomington and Normal U-High. In Mid-Illini softball, Pekin won another close contest while Washington and East Peoria won shutouts.
Delavan baseball celebrated a walk-off win against a rival while Richwoods added another no-hitter to its ledger. Gabe Perez had a big day at the plate to lead IVC to a win.
Non-conference soccer action saw plenty of shutouts while Farmington’s track and field teams showed out well on home turf.
