Conference play continued to get going for many baseball and softball teams in Central Illinois on Wednesday with the HOIC doing battle in both sports plus the Mid-Illini and Big 12 action kicking off in baseball.
Richwoods baseball threw a no-hitter for the second consecutive day and Brimfield/Elmwood's Schyer Meinders didn't allow a hit as well. Three Mid-Illini baseball squads earned sweeps of their conference opponents. Both Tri-Valley and Tremont’s baseball and softball teams won conference games while Metamora, Normal U-High, Brimfield/Elmwood and Eureka had multiple wins on the diamond too. Many teams put up double digits with three teams even scoring 20 or more runs.
A quartet of area girls soccer teams, Normal Community girls track and field, Dunlap girls lacrosse and Bloomington boys tennis each picked up victories too.
Check out all of the scores, recaps and top performers from the day in The Roundup!
