The 2026-27 IHSA sports season kicked off for Central Illinois on Thursday with a handful of area teams hitting the golf course.
Peoria Notre Dame won a competitive tournament in the Chicago suburbs while Dee-Mack and Roanoke-Benson picked up victories as well. Normal U-High, Normal Community and Midland were also in action.
Pekin girls golf used four sub-50 scores at the always-stern Lick Creek Golf Club to earn a season-opening win over Moline as well.
