The Roundup, Aug. 18, 2025: Eureka golf fares well at Midland Invite

The latest in a string of blazing-hot days in Central Illinois led to the cancellation of several golf meets and tournaments. Eureka’s boys team however braved the heat en route to their second top-2 finish of the young season.

At Varna: Eureka competed at the Midland Invite with several other area schools and posted another strong team score early in the season with a 319. Jacob Schulz led all Hornets with a 75 to tie for second at Timber Ridge Golf Club while Devon Wiles and John Martin both shot an 81 in a tie for seventh. Cayden Fogo wasn’t far behind and rounded out Eureka’s effort with an 82.
