The Roundup, Aug. 25, 2025: Washington double-dips in wins, PND and BCC take key season openers

The fall sports floodgates opened on Monday as volleyball, soccer and cross country were several sports to have their first official day of competition.

Washington took down Richwoods in volleyball and soccer while Bloomington Central Catholic earned a key early-season win and Princeville and Morton won on the court as well. 

Several soccer teams impressed with Peoria Notre Dame and Normal West scoring wins over strong opponents, Bloomington and IVC winning in shutouts and Illini Bluffs and BCC dueling in a thrilling matchup. 

Several Twin Cities-area golf teams were in action and Illini Bluffs cross country led the way at the Farmington Invite.
