The Roundup, Dec. 9, 2025: Peoria High, BCC boys add high-profile wins, several top area girls teams in action, plus wrestling and swimming

Tuesday’s list of basketball games in Central Illinois provided a good mix of high-scoring action and sound defensive performances as many of the area’s top teams rolled to wins. 

Brimfield, Dee-Mack and Richwoods kept their perfect records intact while Peoria High and Bloomington Central Catholic prevailed in key non-conference games against Morton and Tri-Valley, respectively. Bloomington notched a narrow win with another big time performance from a key freshman. 

Mid-Illini conference games set the tone for the night in girls hoops as Washington put on a clinic and Roanoke-Benson, Peoria Notre Dame, Normal West and Heyworth also came out on top. 

Several schools hit the mats in wrestling while Normal Community and Normal West each had strong nights in boys swimming.
