The Roundup, Feb. 14, 2026: Wrestlers clinch state berths, postseason begins in girls hoops

Over 50 Central Illinois wrestlers clinched state berths and five girls basketball teams won regional quarterfinal contests on Saturday, while several boys hoops squads got non-conference tests. 

In boys wrestling, Olympia, Canton, Washington and Bloomington all had healthy contingents of wrestlers move on to state while Canton, Pekin and Normal West led the way on the mats for the girls. 

Brimfield, Elmwood, Fieldcrest, Normal Calvary and Olympia secured at least one more game with playoff wins in girls basketball while Bloomington Central Catholic, Normal U-High and Peoria Heights boys flexed their muscles with good non-conference wins.
