Nine area teams took home regional title in boys basketball, with all four classes represented. Richwoods won a thriller against Morton and Peoria Heights upset Princeville in a close game while Metamora, Manual and Fieldcrest had easier affairs in their regional championships.
Washington wrestling is still in the running for a state championship after a quarterfinal win in at the IHSA dual team state meet and five area girls grapplers won both of their matches at the IHSA State girls wrestling tournament. In more state action, a pair of Normal Community swimmers advanced through prelims at the state meet.
