The Roundup, Jan. 8, 2026: McGlasson scores 1,000th point, Dee-Mack downs Tremont in rivalry

Girls basketball took the spotlight on Thursday with many Class 1A and 2A teams in action. 


Midland’s Anna McGlasson etched her name in program history by scoring her 1,000th career point in a big win over Midland. Dee-Mack, Eureka and Tri-Valley all prevailed in Heart of Illinois Conference contests. 


Peoria Christian was the lone boys basketball team in the area that was victorious and Elmwood suffered a buzzer-beating loss. Four Mid-Illini squads were victorious in boys wrestling.
