The Roundup, Jan. 9, 2026: Manual, Normal Community, Peoria High earn Big 12 sweeps, EP rebounds to beat Metamora

Manual, Normal Community and Peoria High all were victorious in both ends of boys/girls Big 12 basketball doubleheaders in a busy night of high school hoops. Those three teams and Richwoods, who was also victorious on Friday, make up the top four of the boys conference standings.


Elsewhere, East Peoria boys got back in the win column with a key Mid-Illini win and Dee-Mack finished off a sweep in the Route 9 Rivalry. Tri-Valley and Eureka helped headline Heart of Illinois Conference action. 


Four Mid-Illini girls squads picked up wins, all by 15 or more points and four teams from Bloomington/Normal were also victorious. Normal Community and Olympia boys wrestling headlined the action on the mats.
