East Peoria’s Jackson Ahrens hit for the cycle, Eureka won in baseball and softball and Bloomington Central Catholic softball won a doubleheader to highlight Thursday’s Central Illinois high school sports slate.
Metamora baseball stayed unbeaten while Limestone fell for the first time all year. Dunlap’s Brett Alkire spun a great game on the mound to lead the Eagles to a shutout win. Brimfield/Elmwood, Farmington, Illini Bluffs and Olympia all used hefty hitting performances to win in softball.
Several girls soccer teams including Morton were victorious and Pekin’s girls and Princeville’s boys track teams performed well.
