Monday’s high school sports slate in Central Illinois brought several notable results and performances as the regular season begins to wind down in several sports.

Dunlap, East Peoria, Washington and Limestone all won low-scoring battles in Mid-Illini baseball while Normal Community and Richwoods put up dominant sweeps in Big 12 play. Peoria Notre Dame, Bloomington Central Catholic and Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn all won intriguing games as well.

Softball’s highlights included, but weren’t limited to, Metamora’s Allie Nelson lifting her team to a conference win with a no-hitter, IVC upsetting Dunlap, PND winning on a walk-off and Washington escaping an upset.

Three area girls soccer teams won dominantly in shutouts and Eureka boys track and field won the Heart of Illinois Conference title.
