The Roundup, May 18, 2026: Dunlap posts key victory, Duncheon throws no-hitter, Lovell scores six goals in playoff win

The final week of the baseball regular season kicked off with several notable performances on Monday, led by Dunlap, Normal Community, East Peoria and Richwoods.

Dunlap secured no worse than a share of the Mid-Illini title with a tightly-contested win over Metamora while Normal Community won the Big 12 crown after beating Bloomington. Dee-Mack and Richwoods won on walk-offs and IVC outdueled El Paso-Gridley in a low-scoring battle.

Playoff softball began with Farmington and Midwest Central in action in regional quarterfinals and Peoria Christian soccer’s Addy Lovell put up a masterful performance in a regional semifinal win. Monday was also kind to a pair of boys lacrosse teams, who won their sectional first round games.
