Friday had a bit of everything across multiple sports as baseball and softball games had close games and sizable wins, plus several no-hitters — including a perfect game from Delavan’s Wyatt Pierson — and slugfests.
The days biggest contests on the diamond included wins from Tri-Valley, Olympia, Bloomington and Normal Community softball and Eureka baseball, who locked up at least a share of the Heart of Illinois Conference title.
Many girls soccer teams competed at the prestigious Adidas Tournament of Champions in Bettendorf, Iowa with Richwoods, Peoria Notre Dame and Pekin all taking home quality wins. A huge day for track and field featured the Metamora Mach Speed and Flight Night, Eureka’s Roger Washburn Invite, the Pekin Dragon Invite and more.
Check out all of the scores, recaps and top performers from the day in The Roundup!
