Saturday provided an overflow of excitement in Central Illinois high school sports, with state, sectional and regional champions being crowned.
Two area boys track and field standouts plus a Morton relay team finished their season with state championships while Dunlap boys tennis stamped a historic showing at the Class 1A State Finals.
Peoria Notre Dame was a sectional winner in both baseball and girls soccer, with multiple Mid-Illini baseball and softball teams taking home hardware. Strong seasons came to end for Olympia softball, Normal U-High baseball and Delavan baseball.
