The Roundup, May 28, 2026: Fieldcrest, IVC among baseball regional semi winners, EPG track plus Dunlap and Metamora tennis start state strong

The regional final matchups in baseball are set after regional semifinals wrapped up on Wednesday. Five area teams grabbed victories, including IVC and Roanoke-Benson, who both won by a run. Fieldcrest, Heyworth and Princeville all moved on as well.

The Class 1A prelims in boys track and field got underway with more than a handful of athletes earning first or second place in their events and El Paso-Gridley owning the most finals qualifiers of any area Class 1A team. Dunlap and Metamora headlined the first day of the IHSA State FInals in tennis as well.
